Nailers Look To Bounce Back In Dayton

WHEELING, W.Va. - The Wheeling Nailers look to get back on track this weekend following Wednesday's 3-2 loss when they play a trio of games on the road. First up are back-to-back games against the Dayton Bombers tonight and tomorrow night. Both contests begin at 7:30 p.m.

The Nailers are currently in third place in the North Division with 57 points. Dayton, just six points behind Wheeling, is in sixth place in the division.

The Nailers conclude their weekend road trip with a visit to Johnstown against the rival Chiefs. That contest begins at 2:35 p.m.

The Nailers' next home stand is Feb. 27-28 when they host Dayton and Trenton, respectively. The Feb. 27 game is Friday Family Four Pack Night, where families receive four tickets, four sodas, four hotdogs and one large popcorn for just $44. In addition, a collector poster will be given away to the first 2,500 fans in attendance. A Coal Miner Spike Bobble Head will be given away to the first 2,500 fans in attendance at the Feb. 28 game.

Last Time Out

Wheeling: The Nailers lost a tough one Wednesday night when Trenton's Jeff Prough scored a power play goal at the 18:15 mark of the third period to lift his club to a 3-2 victory. Tobias Holm and Elgin Reid scored goals for the Nailers, and goalie Curtis Darling stopped 27 of 30 shots.

Dayton: Despite outshooting the opposition 45-18, the Dayton Bombers lost a 2-1 contest to the visiting Johnstown Chiefs on Sunday.

The Nailers are 5-4 against the Bombers this season with two wins coming in shootouts. ... Dayton has won three of the last five contests, however, Wheeling won the last game on Feb. 6. ... Chris Snavely scored the game-winning goal for the Nailers on Feb. 6 on a power play slap shot from the blue line. After tonight's game the Bombers and Nailers will meet four more times in the regular season.

Clarke's Return

Aaron Clarke registered one assist and put five shots on net in the Nailers' 3-2 loss to Trenton on Wednesday, his first game with the Nailers since returning from a short stay with Binghamton of the AHL.
