The Devils opened the scoring at the 7:37 mark of the first period on Brad Snetsingers' 12th of the year. The Jackals countered with a Paul McIlveen power play goal at the 16:22 mark to even the score at 1-1. Nathan Lutz and Benoit Doucet assisted. Trenton would pick up their second lead of the game at the 17:51 mark of the first on a Trevor Kell power play tally. Trenton held a 9-5 shot advantage in the first period.

In the second period the Jackals brought out the power play-fire power. Steve Yetman and Nathan Lutz set up Brandon Roach for the 2-2 equalizer at the 11:40 mark on a five on three man advantage. The Jackals then took their first lead of the game at the 13:13 mark. Brandon Roach also got credit on the play. The 3-2 lead didn't last long, with Trevor Kell netting his second of the game, 16th of the season at the 17:37 mark.

The 3-3 score would hold all the way through regulation and a four on four, five minute sudden death overtime thanks to Jackals net minder Mitch O'Keefe who turned aside 34 of 37 shots on the evening.
