Wheeling Nailers News Release
WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, are pleased to continue their partnership with Ohio County Breast Cancer Awareness, and their annual event, Driving Fore a Cure.
"We take great pride in our relationship with Driving Fore a Cure, as it is a fantastic local cause, whose impact can be felt throughout the Ohio Valley," said Nailers Vice President Craig Bommer. "Everyone knows a person who has been affected by some form of cancer, and we as an organization want to do everything in our power to help, so that more women can beat this unfortunate disease."
Each season, the Nailers host a Pink in the Rink Game, which is focused on raising awareness about breast cancer, informing women so that they can take the proper steps to prevent breast cancer, and raising funds for those who need assistance in the fight against breast cancer. At the 2015 Pink in the Rink Game, $5,000 was raised for Driving Fore a Cure, which celebrates its 10th anniversary with a golf classic on Friday, October 9th at Oglebay Resort.
"We would like to extend a big thank you to the Wheeling Nailers for their donation of $5,000 to our cause," said Driving Fore a Cure President Kathy Blass. "As a breast cancer survivor, I know first hand what women face and endure when diagnosed with this disease, and I am deeply committed to this money-raising effort, which specifically helps the women in the Tri-State area who have been stricken with this disease."
The 2015-16 Pink in the Rink Game will take place on Saturday, January 23rd at 7:35 against the Kalamazoo Wings. The Nailers are looking forward to another extremely successful night, as they continue to help those in the fight against breast cancer.
Individual tickets, season tickets, mini plans, and group tickets are on sale now, with prices starting as low as $10 per seat. The Nailers will begin the 2015-16 regular season on October 16th and 17th in Norfolk, before the home opener takes place on October 24th against Brampton at 7:35.
