Colorado Eagles News Release
WINDSOR, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles announced Monday that they have signed veteran defenseman Adrian Veideman for the 2015-16 season. Veideman has spent the past six seasons in Europe, capturing championships in both Austria and Norway, while also spending two seasons in the DEL with the Iserlohn Roosters. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound blueliner has also seen action in 83 AHL contests, registering 30 points in stints with the Peoria Rivermen and Iowa Chops.
"I'm excited to be back home, after playing overseas for the past six years," said Veideman. "Colorado is home and I've heard nothing but great things about the Eagles organization, it's first-class all the way through and my wife and I couldn't be happier to be here."
Prior to turning pro, the Sicamous, British Columbia native spent four seasons at the University of Denver, capturing NCAA championships with the Pioneers in 2004 and 2005. During that time, Veideman would play alongside former Eagles Kevin Ulanski, Luke Fulghum, Gabe Gauthier and Matt Glasser, while also serving as the team's captain during the 2006-07 season. In total, Veideman collected 17 goals and 42 assists in 149 games with DU.
"Adrian is an extremely talented player, with a great veteran presence to his game," said Eagles head coach and general manager Chris Stewart. "He has the ability to be a top-end defenseman in this league and we're looking for big things from him this season."
This will be Veideman's second stint in the ECHL, after generating 40 points in 66 games with the Augusta Lynx during the 2007-08 season, earning him a spot on the ECHL's All-Rookie Team that year. Veideman joins the Eagles having posted 46 goals and 169 assists in 409 total professional contests, while finishing with a combined plus/minus rating of plus-88.
Season tickets for the 2015-16 season are on-sale now and can be reserved with a $50 deposit per seat by calling the Eagles ticket office at 970-686-SHOT (7468).
The 2015-16 regular season home schedule kicks off on Friday, October 16th when the Eagles host the Utah Grizzlies. A complete schedule can be found at www.ColoradoEagles.com.
