Rapid City Rush News Release
(RAPID CITY, SD) - The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Arizona Coyotes and AHL's Springfield Falcons, announced today the schedule for Training Camp for the upcoming 2015-16 ECHL Season.
Training Camp will officially begin on Monday, October 5th, and last until Wednesday, October 14th. Main features of training camp include an intra-squad scrimmage, and two preseason games against the Rush's archrivals, the Colorado Eagles, on Friday, October 9th (away), and Saturday, October 10th, at Premier Home Mortgage Ice in Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. Puck drop for both games is slated for 7:05 p.m. As has been tradition since the inception of the Rush organization, Training Camp will be open to the public.
"It's a very exciting time with players making their way to Rapid City, and some arriving into Rapid City today. We expect a very competitive training camp with several new players vying for the opportunity to earn a roster spot with the 2015-16 Rapid City Rush," said Rush Head Coach and GM, Joe Ferras. "With our fans getting the opportunity to see several new teams this year, as well as being affiliated with the Arizona Coyotes, this creates great excitement for the upcoming season."
Training Camp will resume on Monday, October 12th, and will conclude on Wednesday, October 14th. The team will then bus to Boise, ID, to get set for their first ever meeting with their newest West Division rival, the Idaho Steelheads, in a two-game set to open the 2015-16 ECHL season on Friday, October 16th, and Saturday, October 17th, with both games starting at 7:10 p.m. MST.
