
Mychel Thompson Returns to Santa Cruz Warriors

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Santa Cruz Warriors have acquired forward Mychel Thompson, the team announced today. In conjunction with the move, Santa Cruz waived guard Maurice Baker.
The NBA D-League Champion Thompson (6-7, 215lb) appeared in 47 games for Santa Cruz during the 2014-15 season, averaging 14.2 points and 3.4 rebounds in 30 minutes per game. In the postseason, he averaged 14.3 points and 3.7 rebounds in seven games to lead the Santa Cruz Warriors to a franchise first NBA D-League Championship.
Thompson last played for Pallacanestro Varese of Italy, appearing in nine league games and five FIBA Europe Cup games.
Thompson will be active tonight for the Warriors' road contest at the Reno Bighorns, scheduled to tip-off at 7 p.m. PST. Fans can watch the game on the NBA D-League's YouTube channel, via www.santacruzbasketball.com.
