Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release

BOSSIER CITY, LA – The Central Hockey League released its 2004-05 schedule today and the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs will begin their eighth season of hockey in the Ark-La-Tex on Friday October 22, 2004 with the team's home opener against the Fort Worth Brahmas. The contest will mark the fourth time in team history the Mudbugs have opened on home ice.

The 60-game campaign, which features 30 home and 30 away games, will last until March 20th when the Mudbugs travel to Fort Worth to conclude the regular season. The most anticipated contests of the year figure to be the two rematches of last year's highly controversial President's Cup Finals series between the Mudbugs and Laredo Bucks. Laredo will host the first contest between the two rivals on Thursday November 11th and then travel to the CenturyTel Center on Friday January 28th. Of the Mudbugs' home contests, ten will be played on Friday nights and ten will fall on Saturday nights. With the exception of the Lubbock Cotton Kings, every team in the Central Hockey League will make at least one appearance at the CenturyTel Center.

Other highlights of the Mudbugs' home schedule include: the first-ever game between the Mudbugs and the Topeka Tarantulas (formerly the Indianapolis Ice) on Thursday October 28th; the first of six visits by the arch-rival Memphis RiverKings on Saturday November 6th; a four-game homestand in December concluding with a 5:05 p.m. start against Fort Worth the day after Christmas; the lone appearance by the Colorado Eagles on February 20th after a fierce season series last year; and the home finale on March 19th against last year's Northern Conference Finals opponent, the Wichita Thunder.

"Now that we have our schedule, I'm even more excited to get the season started," said Mudbugs General Manager Jason Rent. "Our fans are going to be treated to some great nights at the CenturyTel Center and we've got a lot planned to make this a very special year. Not only will we get the chance to see all of the talent the Central Hockey League has to offer, but we have some dates that will make for some great entertainment for our fans."

As members of the new Northeast Division, the Mudbugs will face their division rivals on 30 different occasions this year, including eleven games against the Memphis RiverKings, ten against the Fort Worth Brahmas, four against the Oklahoma City Blazers, and five against the Tulsa Oilers. Meanwhile, the Mudbugs will meet members of the Northwest Division on multiple occasions, including Topeka and Wichita five times each, Colorado three times, and New Mexico twice.

The months of December and February will be the busiest for the Mudbugs with 12 games in each, including eight home contests in February. Games at the CenturyTel Center will once again start at 7:05 p.m., with the exception of three Sunday games with 5:05 p.m. faceoffs.

Season ticket packages and corporate partnerships with the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs are now available. For more information on the 2004-05 Mudbugs hockey season, please call 752-BUGS or visit www.mudbugshockey.com.
