Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release
LAREDO, TX -- The veterans went to work quick in the first period as the Mudbugs were able to take a one goal lead when Dan Wildfong slipped a rebound between the post and Laredo goaltender Eric Marvin. The Mudbugs made it two to nothing when Chris Brassard slapped a one-time feed from the slot to convert a powerplay goal. Laredo would get on the board when Leo Thomas squeezed a centering pass past John DeCaro towards the end of the period.
Both teams exchanged multiple powerplay opportunities in the third period but came up with nothing.
The third period would also end up scoreless as both teams would finish it out in a four-on-four overtime. Bobby Chaumont took a one-time feed and beat John DeCaro stick side to give the Buck the overtime game winning goal. The Mudbugs will return to the road on Thursday night as they'll play Lubbock for the first time this year.
