Greenville Grrrowl News Release
GREENVILLE, SC â The Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL, proud affiliates of the Chicago Blackhawks and Edmonton Oilers have announced that MIKE MORRISON (G) has been recalled to the Edmonton Roadrunners of the AHL, and will be in the lineup when Edmonton hosts Cleveland at 2pm on Saturday.
Morrison has won 5 of his last 6 starts, including Friday's 3-2 loss to the Inferno in Columbia. He is under contract to the AHL affiliate in Edmonton and has been with the Grrrowl for the entire season after being assigned to Greenville. Morrison has a record of 9-5-2 with a .923 save percentage and 2.67 goals against average in 17 starts.
Morrison joins Carl Mallette as the two Grrrowl players who have spent time in the AHL this season. Mallette (the ECHL's leading scorer with 35 points) played three games in December with the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks.
In another transaction, JAMES BEAVER has been added to the roster (#31) as emergency backup goalie for Saturday's game.
The Grrrowl return to the BI-LO Center Saturday for a 7:05 p.m. game against the South Carolina Stingrays. The Greenville Grrrowl will be collecting monetary donations at the next three home games, with the proceeds being given to Center Ice Charities. Center Ice will immediately forward the money on towards the American Red Cross International Response Fund to benefit Tsunami and Earthquake Victims in Southeast Asia. Please stop by the Fan Accommodations Table (section 114) or call Ryan Stewart at 864-250-4926 to make your donation.
