FLORENCE, SC -- The Pee Dee Pride scored three goals in each of the first two periods on their way to a 7-0 shutout win over the Columbia Inferno in front of 2,129 fans Saturday night at the Florence Civic Center.
Sebastien Laplante, making his first start since November 19, recorded his third consectuive shutout, tying the ECHL record for consecutive shutouts.
Brian Collins and Allan Sirois both tallied two goals and an assist for the Pride, who improve to 17-10-2 on the season for 36 points. With the win, Pee Dee moves into a first place tie with Charlotte in the East Division.
It is the second straight game in which the Pride have tallied seven goals, after beating Augusta 7-4 on Friday. Prior to Friday's game, Pee Dee had scored just eight goals in its previous five games.
Pee Dee concludes its three-game home stand on Thursday, hosting the Florida Everblades at 7:00. It's the first Thirsty Thursday of the season, with all beer just $2.
