Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release
After the week he had, it's no wonder Jorge Moreno has been recognized for being the best at what he does.
The Winnipeg left fielder hit just about everything thrown at him last week and, for that, he was named today as the Daktronics Northern League Player of the Week for July 4 to July 10.
In seven games, Moreno batted .531 (17/32) with one home run, 10 runs batted and 11 runs scored. He also banged out a league-best seven doubles and piled up 25 total bases while posting .545 on-base and .906 slugging percentages.
Entering tonight's action, Moreno is batting .310 with five home runs and 30 RBIs. He's also stolen 17 bases and is the first member of the Goldeyes to earn weekly honours this season.
