
Moreno Doubles Twice in Monday Night Battle

HAGERSTOWN, MD - Columbia's precocious infielder Hansel Moreno has put together quite the road trip. Moreno doubled twice on Monday night in Hagerstown and now owns seven hits in the first five games of the trip. The Fireflies dropped the third game in the series to the Suns, though, 7-0. Columbia must win on Tuesday to win the four-game series.
To stretch it back further, Moreno has 12 hits over his last seven games (he's hit .364 during that time). The 21-year-old has shown major improvement this season. Moreno was hitting .177 just 24 games into the season. Since June 8, Moreno is batting .284 (52 games). That's the best average during that span among current Fireflies.
Edgardo Fermin also doubled on Monday. In three games against Hagerstown, Columbia has bashed 28 hits - 15 of which are extra-base hits.

The series finale between Columbia and Hagerstown is scheduled for 2:05 ET on Tuesday afternoon. Right-hander Zac Grotz (2-5, 5.58) starts for the Fireflies and faces Suns southpaw Jackson Stoeckinger (2-5, 7.84).
