LAKEWOOD, NJ - Brewer Hicklen had three hits including the game-winning RBI single in the 10th as Lexington handed Lakewood their third straight loss, topping the BlueClaws 6-5 in 10 innings on Monday.

Hicklen drove in Nick Pratto, who began inning at second base as per the new Minor League Baseball experimental rules. In the bottom of the 10th, Garrett Suchey (2-1) stranded the runner at second, striking out Jhailyn Ortiz to end the game. Zach Warren (3-2) gave up the run, which was unearned.

The BlueClaws (37-19/78-47) have dropped three straight games to Lexington (33-22/70-53), who can sweep the four-game series with a win on Tuesday night.

Lakewood tied the game in the eighth inning on a Nick Maton single, bringing home Jhailyn Ortiz after his two-out double off Garrett Suchey.

Trailing 3-0, the BlueClaws got two runs in the fourth inning on a two-run single from Madison Stokes. Lakewood took the lead in the fifth inning on a two-run Matt Vierling home run. For Vierling, a 5th round pick out of Notre Dame, it was his fifth home run as a BlueClaw and came one day after he hit his fourth.

After BlueClaws starter Will Stewart came out after five innings (three runs), Lexington got two runs off Luis Cedeno in the sixth. Cristian Perez tied the game with a two-out single. Then, the Legends took the lead when they put a runner in motion from first with Cal Jones at third. A high throw to second from Rodolfo Duran glanced away from Nick Maton and allowed Jones to come home with the go-ahead run.

Stewart gave up three runs in five innings and did not factor in the decision.

Lexington took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a safety squeeze from Cristian Perez before Brewer Hicklin added a two-run double in the third inning.

Legends starter Charlie Neuweiler gave up four runs in 4.1 innings and did not factor in the decision. Stokes and Vierling each had two hits for Lakewood.

The teams finish their series on Tuesday night at 7:05 pm. LHP Damon Jones (8-6) starts for Lakewood opposite LHP JC Cloney (1-1).
