Moose Edge Heat 2-1

March 27, 2011 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Abbotsford Heat News Release

WINNIPEG MB - Eddie Lack was the difference maker AGAIN, this time stopping 44 of 45 Heat shots to help lead the Manitoba Moose to a 2-1 win over the Abbotsford Heat in AHL action shown nationwide on the CBC Sunday morning.

Despite the opening goal of the game from Ryan MacMurchy, the Heat remained snake bitten against the Moose this season. Mark Flood and Marco Rosa replied for the Moose, both with their second goals in as many games against the Heat. On the season, the Moose posted a 6-0-0-2 record against Abbotsford and now sit just two points back of the front running Lake Erie Monsters in the AHL North.

The Heat, now 34-27-4-6, have nine games left in the season and remain just three points out of third place, currently held by the Hamilton Bulldogs. The Bulldogs will now meet four times over the next eight days, beginning Tuesday night in Hamilton.

The Abbotsford Heat will head to Steel Town for a pair of games this Tuesday and Wednesday against the Dogs. You can catch the pregame show on Country 107.1 FM at 3:45 PM with Dave Sheldon, and you can listen to all the action of the game with the puck drop from the Copps Coliseum in Hamilton at 4 PM (PDT).
