Binghamton Senators News Release
SPRINGFIELD, M.A. - The Binghamton Senators wrapped up a stretch of four games in five nights with a trip to the MassMutual Center in Springfield to take on the Falcons in a Saturday matinee. Mike Brodeur returned to goal for the B-Sens for the first time since Feb. 4 and made 38 saves to help backstop his team to the 4-1 victory.
Roman Wick led the offense for the B-Sens registering a goal and an assist as Binghamton won their sixth straight to pull within one point of the Norfolk Admirals for fourth place in the East Division. The B-Sens would also maintain a seven point lead on the Atlantic Division's Worcester Sharks for the Eastern Conference crossover playoff spot.
Defenseman Eric Gryba opened the scoring for Binghamton, notching his third goal of the season at 9:18 of the first period. Cody Bass also scored for the B-Sens while Andre Benoit rounded out the scoring with an empty net tally with just 1:05 remaining in regulation.
Springfield blueliner David Savard would be the lone Falcon to beat Brodeur in the contest.
The B-Sens will next travel to Syracuse to take on the Crunch Friday, April 1 at 7:30 p.m. Fans can listen live on 680 WINR-AM or 1430 WENE-AM beginning 30 minutes before the game for Countdown to Face Off with Grady Whittenburg, voice of the B-Sens.
