Bulldogs Sink Rivermen with 3-1 Win

Peoria, IL - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Peoria Rivermen 3-1 on Sunday afternoon. Ryan Russell scored the game-winning goal and added an assist while Drew MacIntyre made 26 saves for the win.

The Rivermen got on the scoreboard first at 13:02 of the opening stanza. Dean Arsene sent the puck to Tyson Strachan, who was at the right point. Strachan blasted a shot on net that was redirected by Graham Mink and beat Hamilton starting goaltender Drew MacIntyre.

The Bulldogs tied the game 1-1 at 7:42 of the second stanza. Aaron Palushaj batted the puck towards the net from the slot. Dustin Boyd got his stick on the puck, tipping it past Peoria starting goaltender Jake Allen. Hamilton took a 2-1 lead at 10:12. Ryan Russell collected the puck in the crease before shovelling it underneath Allen and into the net. J.T. Wyman gave the 'Dogs a 3-1 lead at 13:36 with a power-play marker. Wyman received the puck from Russell, while in the slot. Wyman snapped a shot that sailed through traffic before beating Allen and going into the net.

The Bulldogs return to Copps Coliseum to host the Abbotsford Heat for games on Tuesday, March 29th and Wednesday, March 30th. Both games are scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time. All regular season Hamilton Bulldogs broadcasts on AM 820 CHAM will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
