
Aeros Continue Domination of Barons

HOUSTON --- Warren Peters scored the deciding goal with 4:19 left in regulation and the Houston Aeros won for the seventh time in eight games and also set a season-high six-game home winning streak with a 5-4 victory over the Oklahoma City Barons in front of 4,582 on Sunday at Toyota Center.
Chad Rau, Colton Gillies, Robbie Earl and Jon DiSalvatore also notched goals for Houston while Maxim Noreau and Jed Ortmeyer chipped in with a pair of assists. Peters also added an assist to mark his fourth multi-point game of the season.
Bryan Helmer had three assists for the Barons while teammate Milan Kytnar scored twice. Mark Arcobello had a goal and an assist in the loss.
Houston had a 4-2 lead as late as the 4:52 mark of the third period, when DiSalvatore bagged his team-leading 26th goal of the season. The Barons battled back to tie it on goals by Kytnar and Brad Moran.
Matt Hackett made 20 saves for the Aeros and improved to 12-4-2 at home. Bryan Pitton made 20 saves in the loss for the Barons.
The Aeros return to action this Thursday at home versus the Chicago Wolves. Faceoff at Toyota Center is set for 7:05 p.m.

BOMB DROPPINGS The Aeros have won seven of their last eight games, a season-high six-straight at home and have points (6-0-0-1) in seven in a row at Toyota Center... Houston improved to 33-18-1-1 versus West Division teams with a 19-8-1-0 record... The Aeros have won six-straight against the Barons and improved to 8-1-0-0 in the season series. The teams meet again on the final day of the regular season at Toyota Center (April 10)... Jed Ortmeyer, playing in his 502nd pro game, earned an assist on Colton Gillies' first period goal.
