February 18, 2011 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Manitoba Moose News Release

The Manitoba Moose, in conjunction with Home Depot, are pleased to announce the winners of the Home Depot Backyard Rink contest.

The contest winners this season are Ryan Southern, Regan Windsor, and their son Carter, who built a backyard rink at their home at 17 River Crescent in Sanford, MB. Six members of the Manitoba Moose will take to the Sanford familiy's backyard on Monday, February 21st and try out their rink beginning at 3:00 p.m.

Fifteen neighborhood kids will get a chance to play a game of shinny against members of the Manitoba Moose on the winning rink.

The Southern's and the community of Sanford will welcome Moose players Guillaume Desbiens, Eddie Lack, Jordan Schroeder, Kevin Connauton, Shawn Weller, and Mark Flood for a one-hour game of shinny. The players will also be available to sign autographs for all the neighborhood kids.

The Southern's earned the right to host the game of shinny by winning top prize in this season's Home Depot Backyard Rink Contest. Their first-placed rink is 30' X 50' in size and features blue and red lines, a Moose logo emblazoned on centre ice, and the names and numbers of all current Manitoba Moose players displayed on the rink's end boards.

The winning entry in the Home Depot Backyard Rink Contest was selected out of numerous applicants who submitted photos and a description of their rink at any of the five participating Home Depot locations or through www.moosehockey.com.
