Moore named MWL Player of the Week

June 9, 2008 - Kernels OF Jeremy Moore has been named the Midwest League Player of the Week for the week ending June 8. The Midwest League Office and Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM) made the announcement Monday morning.

In five games, Moore posted a .632 BA (12-19) with 2 HR, 4 RBI and five runs scored. He also led the league with a .632 on-base percentage and a 1.105 slugging percentage.

Moore is the second Kernel to earn weekly hours. LHP Michael Anton was named the MWL Pitcher of the Week on May 12.

The Kernels wrap up the first half of the MWL season on the road with games at Beloit at Kane County. The next home game at Dale and Thomas Popcorn Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium is Thursday, June 19 at 7 pm when the Kernels host the Quad Cities River Bandits.
