
Moore and Wilson Score in 6-2 Loss to Broncos

Swift Current, Sask. - The Regina Pats fell 6-2 to the Swift Current Broncos on Saturday inside the InnovationPlex.
The Pats and Broncos were tied up 2-2 after the opening period of play. Ty Coupland scored on the power play to put the Broncos up 3-2 early in the second, and Mathew Ward added insurance, scoring twice one minute apart late in the period, as the Broncos lead 5-3 after two.
The Broncos had two leads slip away from the in the first period. First, Zach Moore tied things up at one, and then Anthony Wilson tied the game at two late in the opening frame.
Luke Mistelbacher led the way offensively for the Broncos, recording three points (1G-2A) all while Reid Dyck made 19 saves for his fifth straight victory. Dawson Gerwing tallied two assists, and Ward scored twice as the Broncos won their third straight game.

First Period
1-0 Broncos at 16 seconds - Luke Mistelbacher (12), assisted by Conor Geekie & Owen Pickering // Geekie carried the puck deep into the Pats zone, was unable to get a shot away but sent a pass to Mistelbacher in the slot and he one-timed it past Huet to make it 1-0 on the Broncos' first shot on goal.
1-1 Pats at 3:50 - Zach Moore (6), assisted by Braxton Whitehead // The Pats broke into the Swift Current zone and as Moore reached the top of the right circle, he let a shot fly that slipped past Dyck to get the Pats on even terms at 1-1.
2-1 Broncos at 16:47 - Connor Hvidston (22), assisted by Rylan Gould (SH) // The Broncos broke in on an odd-man rush and Hvidston tucked the puck past Huet to give the Broncos a 2-1 lead.
2-2 Pats at 17:14 - Anthony Wilson (7), assisted by Zackary Shantz & Keagan Slaney (PP) // The Pats entered the Broncos zone and Shantz hit Wilson with a pass in the slot, and the hometown forward fired the puck past Dyck to get the teams even once again at 2-2.
Second Period
3-2 Broncos at 3:16 - Ty Coupland (9), assisted by Josh Filmon & Luke Mistelbacher (PP) // The Broncos held control of the puck in the Pats zone, and Coupland broke his stick on a chance at the left circle but puck managed to make it to the back of the net to give the Broncos a 3-2 lead.
4-2 Broncos at 13:10 - Mathew Ward (12), assisted by Luke Mistelbacher & Ryan McCleary // Mistelbacher's shot from the right circle looked to be heading wide but the puck deflected in off of Ward's skate and in to extend the Broncos's lead to 4-2.
5-2 Broncos at 14:10 - Mathew Ward (13), assisted by Jakub Dvorak & Dawson Gerwing // An initial shot did not get through but Ward found the loose puck and tucked it past a down and out Huet to extend the lead to 5-2.
Third Period
6-2 Broncos at 18:40 - Connor Gabriel (8), assisted by Zach Turner & Dawson Gerwing // Turner's shot from the left point was tipped home by Gabriel and past Pyne to make it 6-2.

Anthony Wilson has six points (3G-3A) in his last six games. His goal was his first career powerplay marker.
Zackary Shantz has four points (all assists) in his last four games.
Keagan Slaney notched his first point in three games. The 20-year-old defenceman has three assists in his last six games.
The Pats have now dropped their last three games since their two game winning-streak came to an end on Tuesday.
