Calgary Hitmen News Release

Moose Jaw, SK - Playing their second game in as many days the Calgary Hitmen skated to a 5-3 comeback victory over the Warriors at the Moose Jaw Events Centre on Saturday night.

Trailing 3-2 after 40 minutes, the Hitmen struck for a trio of goals off the sticks of Ben Kindel, Keets Fawcett and Oliver Tulk. Kindel pulled the visitors even 52 seconds into the final frame before Fawcett fired home the go-ahead marker with 6:33 remaining. Tulk then erased any thoughts of a Moose Jaw rally counting the insurance marker with 44.7 seconds to go.

Sawyer Mayes and Carson Wetsch also scored for the Hitmen while goaltender Alex Garrett was excellent between the pipes. The rookie made 33 saves in a third-star performance including a pair of breakaway stops helping Calgary end the Warriors 11-game home ice winning streak.

Atley Calvert, Lyden Lakovic and Brayden Yager all found the back of the net for Moose Jaw on a night where the Warriors outshot Calgary 36-31.

The Hitmen will enjoy a one-day break before their road trip resumes on Family Day, Monday, Feb. 19 in Regina against the Pats. Game time is 1:00 p.m. MST. The swing draws to a close in Edmonton on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 11:00 a.m. MST. Calgary's next home game isn't until Friday, Feb. 23 when the Wenatchee Wild make their first-ever visit to Scotiabank Saddledome for a 7:00 p.m. start.
