
Monsters Open Training Camp Tomorrow

Coming off their best season in franchise history in 2010-11, the 2011-12 season officially kicks off for the Lake Erie Monsters on Wednesday, September 28th. The team will begin its 5th Anniversary Season in Cleveland with the annual Training Camp. Part of this year's preseason schedule will include a special Skills Challenge, which will be free and open to the public and will be the first of its kind in franchise history.
Camp will open on Wednesday with a 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. skating session at the team's practice facility, Hoover Arena in Strongsville. The team will practice 10:00 a.m. - 12 p.m. on Thursday before leaving for two preseason games in Charlotte.
The Monsters and Checkers will play Friday, September 30th at 7:00 p.m. and again on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Both games will be held at Charlotte's practice rink, the Extreme Ice Center, in Indian Trail, North Carolina.
The team will return to Cleveland and will practice Monday through Thursday in preparation of the 2011 Home Opener on Friday, October 7th. Monday and Tuesday the team will skate at Hoover Arena from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and will be at Quicken Loans Arena the same times on Wednesday and Thursday.
Practices at Hoover Arena are open to the public.
For the first time ever, the Monsters will hold a special "Skills Challenge" during Camp. The event - which will be at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4th at Hoover Arena - will be free and open to the public. Fans will be treated to seeing Monsters players compete amongst themselves in such areas as Hardest Shot, Breakaways, Stick Handling and more. Fans will also be able to get autographs from the players following the competition. Plus Sully and the brand-new WMMS Monsters Hockey Girls will be on hand to entertain fans.
Full season and partial season ticket plans start at just $7 per seat and are on sale now. Group ticket and birthday bash packages for 10 or more are also on sale now, as are single game tickets.
