Monsters frighten Bulldogs 3-1

Cleveland, OH - The Hamilton Bulldogs were defeated by the Lake Erie Monsters 3-1 on Saturday night. Philippe Dupuis scored two goals and added an assist in the victory for Lake Erie.

The Monsters opened the scoring while on the power play at 6:31. T.J. Galiardi fired a shot that was saved by Hamilton starting goaltender Marc Denis. The rebound bounced off the pads of Denis before bouncing off of Philippe Dupuis and into the back of the net.

The Bulldogs tied the game at 11:38 of the first frame. Yanick Lehoux sent a pass onto the stick of Mike Glumac. Glumac rifled a shot past Lake Erie starting goaltender Tyler Weiman. The goal extended Glumac's road point streak to 15 games, the longest of any AHL player this season.

Lake Erie regained the lead with a power-play marker at 5:28 of the final frame. Dupuis scored his second goal of the night after he received a rebound and potted the puck into the back of the net. Hendricks blasted a shot on net that was saved by Denis, but the goaltender could not control the rebound and the rebound bounced onto the stick of Dupuis. Hendricks fired a shot down the ice at 19:48 for an empty net marker to secure the win for the Monsters.

The Bulldogs host their North Division rival the Syracuse Crunch at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4th at Copps Coliseum.
