PHILADELPHIA - The Albany River Rats scored two goals over a 4:15 span in the third period to steal a victory from the Philadelphia Phantoms with a 2-1 come-from-behind win on Saturday night at the Wachovia Spectrum. It was Albany's first win over Philadelphia in its fourth try this season.

After the two teams battled through a scoreless first period, Philadelphia got on the board 6:51 into the second courtesy of Josh Beaulieu. Beaulieu took a pass from Jared Ross in the right corner and slid it into the net behind Albany goaltender Daniel Manzato, who had fallen to the ice and was unable to get a piece of Beaulieu's attempt. The tally was the first of the season for Beaulieu and gave the Phantoms a 1-0 lead.

The River Rats tied the game with 8:55 left in the third after a goal-mouth scramble. Josef Melichar gained control of the puck behind the net and threw it in the slot out in front of Munroe, where Brad Herauf was able to get a stick on the loose puck and poke it in to even the score with his first marker of the year.

Then, with just 4:40 to play, Albany completed the comeback with Ryan Weston's fifth goal of the year. Weston, streaking down the right side, unleashed a wrist shot from the top of the right circle that beat Munroe glove-side to give the Rats a 2-1 lead. The goal would stand as the game winner and earn Weston first star honors.

The Phantoms were a perfect 7-for-7 on the penalty kill, but could not convert on any of their four power play attempts. Munroe made 26 saves in a losing effort while Manzato turned aside 26 of 27 to earn the win.

The Phantoms return to action this Tuesday, February 3rd against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at 7:05 at the Wachovia Spectrum. Comcast-Spectacor and the Phantoms are now offering an amazing $10 adult ticket price for all remaining home games for the Phantoms final season at the Wachovia Spectrum, while all tickets for kids 14 and under are now $5.
