LAST WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS

vs. St. John's (11/7): Goaltender Peter Mannino made his first start of the season and led the Manchester Monarchs to victory by defeating the St. John's IceCaps, 4-1, at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Wednesday night. Right wing Tyler Toffoli, defenseman Slava Voynov and right wing Brandon Kozun (two) scored goals for the Monarchs. Center Alex Burmistrov scored the lone goal for the IceCaps. Mannino (1-0-0) earned his first win of the season making saves on 26-of-27 shots. IceCaps goaltender Mark Dekanich (3-1-0) took his first loss of the season with 28 saves on 31 shots. Manchester was 3-for-9 on the power play. St. John's was 0-for-6 with the man advantage.

vs. Bridgeport (11/9): The Manchester Monarchs were defeated by the Bridgeport Sound Tigers who were led by former Monarchs Assistant Coach Scott Pellerin, 5-2, at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Friday night. The Monarchs registered goals from defenseman Andrew Bodnarchuk and center Linden Vey. Center Casey Cizikas, left wing Brandon DeFazio, defenseman Travis Hamonic, left wing Nino Niederreiter and center Brock Nelson scored for the Sound Tigers. Jones (5-3-1) took his third loss of the season making saves on 39-of-44 shots. Sound Tigers goaltender Anders Nilsson (1-0-0) earned his first win of the season with 32 saves on 34 shots. Manchester was 0-for-3 on the power play. Bridgeport went 1-for-3 with the man advantage.

vs. Providence (11/10): The Manchester Monarchs shutout the Providence Bruins, 3-0, in their second annual Mullets In Movember gameat the Verizon Wireless Arena on Saturday night. The Monarchs scored goals from center Andrei Loktionov, left wing Dwight King and Left wing Tanner Pearson. Monarchs goaltender Martin Jones (6-3-1) earned his third shutout and sixth win of the season making saves on all 19 shots he faced. Bruins netminder Niklas Svedberg (4-2-0) took his second loss of the season with 26 saves on 28 shots. Manchester was 0-for-7 on the power play. Providence also went 0-for-7 with the man advantage.

MONARCHS NEWS & NOTES

The Manchester Monarchs (7-3-0-1) sit in first place in the Atlantic Division with 15 points. The Worcester Sharks (6-5-1-1) rank second in the division with 14 points. The Portland Pirates (5-4-1-1) and the St. John's IceCaps (6-7-0-0) are tied for third place in the division with 12 points each. The Providence Bruins (4-6-0-1) are in fifth place in division with nine points.

The Monarchs are 2-0-0-1 on the road and are 5-3-0-0 at home this season.

Manchester scored a season-high three power play goals against the IceCaps on Wednesday, November 7.

The Monarchs are 11-for-53 (20.8%) on the power play this season which ranks ninth in the American Hockey League.

Right wing Brandon Kozun (4-8=12) leads the team in both assists (eight) and points (12).

Kozun is tied with center Andrei Loktionov (4-4=8) and right wing Tyler Toffoli (4-3=7) for first on the team with four goals this season.

Kozun had a six-game point streak (2-6=8) snapped in a 3-0 loss to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Friday, November 2.

Kozun is on a three-game point streak (2-2=4).

Kozun tallied the game-winning goals against the Sharks on Saturday, October 27, against the Binghamton Senators on Sunday, October 28 and the IceCaps on Wednesday, November 7.

Kozun leads the team with three game-winning goals this season.

Loktionov had a four-game point streak (2-3=5) snapped in a 3-0 loss to the Penguins on Friday, November 2.

Loktionov ranks second on the team with eight points.

Defenseman Slava Voynov (3-4=7) and Toffoli are tied for third place on the team with seven points each.

Voynov tallied a goal and an assist in his first multi-point game of the season against the Pirates on Saturday, October 20.

Voynov tallied a shorthanded goal in a 5-1 victory over the Sharks on Saturday, October 27. The shorthanded goal was the Monarchs third this season which is tied for second place in the AHL.

Voynov leads the team with 32 shots on goal this season.

Toffoli had a four-game point streak (2-2=4) snapped on Saturday, October 27.

Toffoli scored his first professional shorthanded goal against the Pirates on October 20.

Defenseman David Kolomatis (3-3=6), center Linden Vey (3-3=6), left wing Dwight King (1-5=6) and defenseman Nick Deslauriers (0-6=6) are tied for fifth place on the Monarchs with six points each.

Kolomatis, Voynov, Vey, center Andy Andreoff (3-1=4), left wing Tanner Pearson (3-1=4) are tied for fourth on the team with three goals each.

All three of Kolomatis' goals this season have come when the team was on a power play. His three power play goals lead the team and are tied for eighth in the AHL.

Vey tallied an assist and the game-winning goal against the Pirates on October 20 for his first multi-point game of the season.

King made his season debut with the Monarchs on Saturday, October 27 against the Sharks registering two assists in the game.

Last season, King was recalled by the Los Angeles Kings on February 10, 2012. He appeared in 27 regular season games totaling five goals and nine assists for 14 points. King also appeared in 20 playoff games for Los Angeles totaling five goals and three assists for eight points and 13 penalty minutes.

Deslauriers leads Monarchs defensemen with six assists this season.

Andreoff tallied the game-winning goal at 1:43 of the third period on Opening Night against the Bruins on Friday, October 12.

Pearson made his professional debut with the Monarchs against the Bruins on Friday, October 12.

Pearson registered his first professional goals and points against the Pirates on October 20, registering two goals and an assist in the Monarchs 6-4 victory.

Defenseman Jake Muzzin (0-5=5) and defenseman Andrew Bodnarchuk (1-4=5) are tied for ninth on the team with five points each.

Bodnarchuk scored his first goal of the season in a 5-2 loss to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Friday, November 9.

Bodnarchuk leads the team in plus/minus with a plus-6. In three games against his former team, Bodnarchuk has registered two assists, four shots and a plus-1 rating versus Providence.

Left wing Richard Clune (1-3=4), right wing Stefan Legein (0-4=4), left wing Marc-Andre Cliche (1-3=4), Pearson and Andreoff are tied for 11th on the team with four points each.

Clune leads the team and is tied for ninth in the AHL with 42 penalty minutes.

Clune's 734 penalty minutes rank second on the Monarchs all-time career penalty minutes list.

Legein had a four-game assist and point streak (0-4=4) snapped in a 3-0 loss to the Penguins on Friday, November 2.

Cliche had a four-game point streak (1-3=4) snapped in a 3-0 loss to the Penguins on Friday, November 2.

Cliche ranks third on the Monarchs all-time games played list with 295.

Cliche tallied his first goal of the season in a 5-1 victory over the Sharks on Saturday, October 27. The goal was Cliche's 59th goal in a Monarchs uniform ranking ninth of the franchise's all-time list.

Defenseman Thomas Hickey (0-3=3) ranks 16th on the Monarchs with two points.

Hickey tallied his first point of the season, an assist, on the game-winning goal against the Senators on Sunday, October 28.

Center Robbie Czarnik (1-0=1), defenseman Andrew Campbell (0-1=1), left wing Nikolay Prokhorkin (0-1=1) and goaltender Martin Jones (0-1=1) are tied for 17th place on the Monarchs with one point each this season.

Czarnik recorded the first goal by a Monarchs player at the Verizon Wireless Arena for the 2012-13 regular season in a 4-3 defeat to the Bruins on Friday, October 19.

Campbell appeared in his 300th professional game (all with the Monarchs) against the Albany Devils on Saturday, October 13. Camp- bell's 303 games rank second all-time on the Monarchs most games played list.

Campbell did not dress for the Monarchs on Sunday, October 28. It was his first game missed since March 13, 2011. Campbell remains out of the line-up with an upper body injury.

Prokhorkin tallied an assist on Kolomatis' game-winning goal against the Devils on Saturday, October 13. The game also marked Prokhorkin's AHL debut.

Hickey tallied his first point of the season, an assist, on the game-winning goal against the Senators on Sunday, October 28.

Defenseman Mike Matczak (0-0=0) made his Monarchs debut against the Sharks on Sunday, November 4.

Left wing David Meckler (0-0=0) made his season debut against the Sharks on Sunday, November 4.

Meckler holds the franchise record for game splayed with 346 in a Monarchs uniform.

Defenseman Vincent LoVerde (0-0=0) made his AHL debut on Saturday, November 12 against the Bruins.

Jones (6-3-1) surrendered a goal at 16:44 of the first period on Friday, November 9 marking his first goal against in 114:03 minutes spanning three games from November 4-9.

Jones has played in 10-of-11 games this season registering a 1.79 goals-against-average, a 0.935 save percentage and stopping 259-of- 277 shots attempts.

Jones' 0.935 save percentage and 1.79 goal-against-average rank ninth and seventh best in the league, respectively.

Goaltender Peter Mannino (1-0-0) made his Monarchs debut against his former team, the IceCaps, on Wednesday, November 7. Man- nino allowed one goal in 60 minutes and made 26 saves of 27 shots (.963 save percentage).
