WEEK IN REVIEW The Monarchs battled the Cincinnati Cyclones in a three-game series, and came out with four points and a 2-1-0-0 record.

Friday night, the Monarchs trounced the Cincinnati Cyclones, 7-3, setting their high-water mark for goals so far this season and the most goals scored since Nov. 10, 2015. The Monarchs received goals from David Kolomatis, Quentin Shore, Damir Sharipzyanov, Joey Diamond, Justin Agosta, Connor Hardowa and Alexx Privitera. Privitera's goal was the first of his career and came while short-handed. The power-play unit was clicking and went 4-for-5 on the night, while newly assigned goaltender, Sam Brittain, secured his first Monarchs victory.

The Cyclones exacted some revenge Saturday night, taking the game, 4-2. Cincinnati jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period before second period goals from Diamond and Cory Ward brought the Monarchs to within one. A Cincinnati goal late in the middle frame sealed the victory for the Cyclones. Colin Stevens was in net for the Monarchs and took the loss.

The series wrapped up with a 4-2 Monarchs victory Sunday afternoon. After falling behind 1-0 in the first period, Justin Agosta tied the game :41 second later, followed by tallies from Ward and Diamond to stretch the Monarchs lead to 3-1 heading into the third period. A Cincinnati goal brought the game closer, but Gasper Kopitar sealed the victory with an open-net goal, his first tally of the season. Brittain recorded his second win of the season, and the Monarchs finished the series 15-for-15 on the penalty kill and 4-for-8 on the power play.

WHERE WE STAND The Monarchs enter the week second in the North Division with nine points, trailing only the Adirondack Thunder (10 pts.) for tops in the division. The Monarchs also sit in a third-place tie in the Eastern Conference with the Florida Everblades.

LEADING THE WAY Ward (4g, 3a) and Matt Leitner (1g, 6a) currently lead the Monarchs in scoring with seven points each. Ward is tied for third amongst rookie skaters with his seven points, and his four goals are the second-most in the ECHL for first-year players.

FIRST PLACE SHOWDOWN The Monarchs and Thunder will play three games this weekend with first place in the North Division on the line. The Thunder are led by Mikkel Aagaard (2g, 5a) and Alex Wall (1g, 5a) in scoring, and have received solid goaltending from Ken Appleby and Mason McDonald who have a combined 2.08 GAA.

SPECIAL TEAMS PROWESS The Monarchs begin the week with the ECHL's top-ranked power-play unit. While on the man-advantage, the Monarchs have converted 33.3% of their chances (6-for-18). The penalty-killing unit has been even better, killing-off 96.0% (25-for-25) of opposing power plays, and have yet to concede a PPG at home.

TICKETS The Monarchs return to SNHU Arena on Saturday, Nov. 5 (6 p.m.), to continue their week-long series with the Thunder on 90's Night in the Jungle.
