WARSOFSKY EARNS FIRST WIN
Stingrays head coach Ryan Warsofsky got his first win as the top man behind the bench for South Carolina on Friday night with the win over Florida. Warsofsky was promoted from the assistant position this past summer on July 6. The North Marshfield, Mass. native is the first American born coach in franchise history and has been with the Stingrays as an assistant since 2013, helping to guide South Carolina to several of the most successful seasons in team history while working with the team's defense and special teams.
CARLSON OFF TO A STRONG START
Rookie goaltender Adam Carlson made 31 saves in Friday night's game to record his first professional win in his second start. The netminder also played well in his regular season debut Tuesday night vs. Wichita in a losing effort. Although it's a small sample size, the Edina, Minn. native now has a goals against average of 1.50 and a save percentage at .950 this season. At 6-foot-3, 180 pounds, Carlson is in his first full professional season out of Mercyhurst University.
ARCHAMBAULT BREAKS THROUGH
Forward Olivier Archambault has potted three straight goals for South Carolina and now leads the team in scoring. After tallying the only goal during Thursday night's 2-1 loss to Orlando, the forward scored both goals for the Rays in their first win of the season at Florida on Saturday. All three of Archambault's goals have come on the power play, and he has the only man-advantage goals for the Stingrays so far this season.
The Stingrays begin the month of November at home on Tuesday, Nov. 1 as they host the Orlando Solar Bears at the North Charleston Coliseum at 7:05 p.m. Single-game tickets for the 2016-17 season are now on sale at the North Charleston Coliseum Box Office and ticketmaster.com.
