Monarchs Take Part In Read Across America

MANCHESTER, NH - The Monarchs Care Foundation, the charitable arm of the Manchester Monarchs, have partnered with Bank of America to participate in the National Education Association's Read Across America program next week. Defenseman Thomas Hickey, right wing Jon Rheault and left wing Geoff Walker will read Z Is For Zamboni to three area schools March 1-3.

Hickey will share the hockey book with students at McDonough Elementary School in Manchester, New Hampshire on Monday, March 1 at 1:30 p.m.

Rheault will pass on the message to students at Apple Blossom Daycare at Hesser College in Manchester, New Hampshire on Tuesday, March 2 at 12:45 p.m.

Walker will read to students at Birch Hill Elementary School in Nashua, New Hampshire on Wednesday, March 3 at 1:15 p.m.

Read Across America is the nation's largest reading celebration and is commemorating their 12th Anniversary. All around the nation, reading celebrations big and small are putting the joy of reading front and center.

The Monarchs return to action on Friday, February 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the Verizon Wireless Arena to face-off against the division-rival Lowell Devils and celebrate Max's 9th Birthday!
