
Wolves Ink Netminder Armstrong

The Chicago Wolves have signed goaltender KEVIN ARMSTRONG to a Professional Tryout Contract (PTO).
The 21-year-old netminder has appeared in three contests with the International Hockey League's Bloomington Prairie Thunder this season, recording a 2.67 goals-against average and .920 save percentage in those outings (2-1-0), which includes stopping 34 shots last night in a 4-1 win over the Dayton Gems. Prior to joining Bloomington, he backstopped 22 games for the Tulsa Oilers of the Central Hockey League, posting an 11-8-1 mark with a 3.62 goals-against average and .885 save percentage.
Last season, the Winnipeg, Manitoba, native appeared in 56 matchups with the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League, and seven contests with the Muskegon Lumberjacks (IHL). He accrued a 21-33-1 mark with a 3.73 goals-against average and .891 save percentage with the Cougars, while notching a 2-1-0 record, 4.24 goals-against average and .875 save percentage during his professional debut with the Lumberjacks.
Prior to turning pro, ARMSTRONG spent four seasons in the WHL from 2005 to 2009 with the Saskatoon Blades, Spokane Chiefs and Cougars where he posted an 86-75-15 record with a 3.01 goals against average.
In accordance with team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
ARMSTRONG will join the Wolves when they visit the Peoria Rivermen at Carver Arena on Friday at 7 p.m.
