Milwaukee Admirals News Release

Milwaukee, WI-- The Rockford IceHogs hopped on the back of goalie Joe Fallon Thursday night and skated out of the Bradley Center with a 4-1 win over the Milwaukee Admirals. Fallon turned aside 27 of 28 Admiral shots to lead the IceHogs to victory.

Rockford got on the board first with three and a half minutes left to play in the opening frame when Bryan Bickell picked up the puck in the far corner and attempted a wrap around that was stuffed at the goal line by Admirals goaltender Mark Dekanich. Parked in the slot was Jake Dowell who put the loose puck top shelf to give Rockford a 1-0 lead.

The scoring subsided until Rockford claimed a two-goal lead with three minutes remaining in the second period. Hugh Jessiman took an interference penalty that gave the IceHogs a power play and an offensive zone face off. On the draw, Evan Brophey picked up a loose puck and sent it back to Richard Petiot at the point who proceeded to dish the puck to his defensive partner Jassen Cullimore. Petiot got the puck back and unloaded a slapshot past a screened Dekanich to make the score 2-0.

Jessiman redeemed himself when he picked up the Admirals lone tally 4:15 into the third period. The puck sailed high into the air in front of the Rockford net and a collision between multiple people sent Fallon to the ice. Jessiman found the loose puck and put the biscuit into an open net. Peter Olvecky and Colin Wilson assisted on the play that brought the Admirals within one.

Milwaukee pressured Fallon for the remainder of the game, including a wrap around attempt by Nick Spaling with five minutes to play that died in the crease, but Fallon held strong to preserve the win. Rob Klinkhammer and Jack Skille both added empty-net goals in the final minute to bring the final score to 4-1.

Dekanich performed admirably in the loss, turning away 23 of 25 Rockford shots.

The Admirals are off Friday night before returning to the Bradley Center Ice on Saturday when they host the Chicago Wolves at 7:30 pm. National recording artist Dropkick Murphys will perform in a live post-game concert. Fans can order tickets by calling Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000 or online at www.ticketmaster.com.
