Monarchs Sign Kidd

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, signed defenseman Josh Kidd to an amateur tryout agreement, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.

Kidd, 19, played the last four season with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League and collected 50 points (18-32=50) and 229 penalty minutes in 232 games. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound native of Sundridge, Ontario, was named the Otters Best Defenseman at the 2007 Otters Summer Awards Banquet. Kidd was selected by the Kings in the seventh-round (184 overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
