Monarchs Sign Joe Howe to PTO

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have signed goalie Joe Howe to a professional try out agreement (PTO).

Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough made the announcement.

The 24-year-old has appeared in one game with the Reading Royals of the ECHL this season after being traded from Utah on Dec. 20. Howe has combined for a 3.57 goals against average (32 GA/538 min.) in nine games between Utah and Reading. A product of Colorado College, he spent his first year as a pro with the ECHL's Cincinnati Cyclones in 2013-14, going 10-3-4 with a 2.78 GAA and .907 save percentage. The Plymouth, MN native earned Academic All-WCHA honors on three occasions while at Colorado College.

The first place Monarchs will travel to St. John's for consecutive games at 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday against the IceCaps. Their next home game will be on Jan. 10 when they host Binghamton at 7 p.m.
