Jets Recall Keaton Ellerby from St. John's IceCaps

The Winnipeg Jets announced they have recalled defenceman Keaton Ellerby from the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League. The Winnipeg Jets also announced they have placed forward Evander Kane on IR retroactive to Dec. 28/14.

Ellerby, 26, has played in 18 games this season with the St. John's IceCaps collecting six assists and 16 penalty minutes. The Strathmore, AB native has played 211 NHL games in his career with the Florida Panthers, Los Angeles Kings & Winnipeg Jets, accumulating 26 points (4G, 22A) and 88 penalty minutes. Ellerby was acquired by the Jets when he was claimed off waivers from the Los Angeles Kings on Nov. 2/13. In 2013-14, he appeared in 51 games for Winnipeg and compiled six points (2G, 4A) and two penalty minutes. He was originally drafted by the Florida Panthers in the first round, 10th overall, in the 2007 NHL Draft.
