
Worcester Sharks to Host Four High School Hockey Double Headers at DCU Center

Worcester, MA - The Worcester Sharks (@WorcesterSharks), proud American Hockey League affiliate of the San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) announced today that the club will host four high school hockey double headers at the DCU Center in Worcester brought to you by Anna Maria College.
Eight local high school varsity boys' hockey teams and two varsity girls' hockey teams will skate on the DCU Center Ice directly before a Worcester Sharks game. High School hockey fans will receive a reduced ticket price in advance for each participating school, with one ticket to garner entry into the high school game(s) and the Sharks game with money to be donated back to each school with each ticket purchased.
The four high school hockey doubleheaders are listed below;
The 5th annual High School Hockey Faceoff will include the Auburn Rockets and the Wachusett Mountaineers on Friday, January 9 before the Sharks host the Binghamton Senators at 7:30pm. Doors open at 4:15pm for the high school game at 4:30pm.
The 6th annual High School Hockey Showdown will feature the Shrewsbury Colonials vs. the Algonquin Tomahawks on Saturday, January 10 before the Sharks game vs. the Providence Bruins at 7pm. The first 3,000 fans will receive a John Buccigross Overtime Challenge bobblehead doll presented by Southbridge Savings Bank. Doors open at 2pm for the girls' varsity game at 2:10pm and the boys' game at 4pm. John Buccigross will make an appearance and sign autographs from 6-8pm.
The 7th annual High School Hockey Clash between the Hudson Hawks and the Marlborough Panthers will take place on Saturday, January 17 before the Sharks host the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins at 7pm. Doors open at 3:30pm for the boys' varsity game at 4pm.
The 9th annual High School Hockey Classic will showcase the St. John's Pioneers and the St. Peter Marian Guardians on Saturday, January 31 before the Sharks host the Providence Bruins at 7pm on Pink in the Rink Night to benefit the Cup Crusaders presented by Pepsi. Doors open at 3:30pm for the boys' varsity game at 4pm.
"The Worcester Sharks are proud to showcase high school hockey at the DCU Center for a 9th consecutive season," said Sharks Sr. Director of Business and Community Development Michael Myers. "The high school games will have all the bells and whistles of a regular Sharks game. We expect large turnouts for all four games and look forward to some great high school hockey action."
