News & Notes

Center Yanick Lehoux helped the Monarchs extend their home ice unbeaten in regulation streak to a team record 13 games (12-0-1-0) with a goal and an assist against the Portland Pirates on Sunday night.

The Monarchs are the only squad in the 28-team American Hockey League to not have a regulation loss on home ice this season.

Lehoux, who has points in 26 of the 30 games he's skated in this season, leads the AHL in scoring with 45 points (20-25=45).

Lehoux takes a three-game goal streak (3 goals during the streak) and a three-game point streak (3-3=6) into the Monarchs Tuesday contest against the Utah Grizzlies.

Lehoux leads the Monarchs with five three-point games this season and is tied for second on the Monarchs with 13 multi-point games.

Lehoux, selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the third-round (86th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, scored his 50th goal as a Monarch on Sunday night against the Pirates. He is one of four players to reach the 50-goal milestone in a Monarchs jersey.

Lehoux's 50 goals are tied for third on the all-time list with former Monarch Steve Kelly. Lehoux trails only former Monarchs Pavel Rosa (67) and Eric Healey (66) on the all-time goals scored list.

Lehoux ranks third on the Monarchs all-time assist list. He earned his 74th career assist as a Monarch on Sunday night against the Pirates.

Lehoux's 124 career points as a Monarch rank fourth on the all-time list behind Kelly (164), Rosa (151) and Healey (131). In 174 career games with the Monarchs, Lehoux has 50 goals, 74 assists and 124 points.

Lehoux, who has already surpassed his previous highs for goals (16) and points (42) in a season, ranks third in the league in both goals (20) and assists (25).

Lehoux leads the AHL in shooting percentage. The 22-year-old native of Repentigny, Quebec, has 20 goals on 69 shots for a shooting percentage of .290.

Kostopoulos is tied for the league lead with five game-winning goals this season.

Center Michael Cammalleri leads the AHL with 22 goals and ranks second in the league with 44 points (22-22=44).

Cammalleri also leads the league with 11 power play goals. The Monarchs team record for power play goals in a season is 14, set by Healey in the 2002-03 season.

Selected by the Kings in the second-round (49th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Cammalleri needs just four more power play goals to tie Healey (20 power play goals) for first on the Monarchs all-time power play goals list.

The next game for veteran left wing Chris Schmidt will be his 200th as a Monarch. Schmidt, originally selected by the Kings in the fifth-round (111th overall) in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, ranks second only to defenseman Joe Rullier (227 games played) on the Monarchs all-time games played list.

Rullier shares the league lead with a plus-21 plus/minus rating.

The next win for Garon will be his 100th in the AHL. The 26-year-old native of Chandler, Quebec, has a career record in the AHL of 99 wins, 84 losses and 21 ties.

The Monarchs lead the league in goals (116), assists (209), points (325), power play goals (39) and goals -per-game-average (3.87).

The Monarchs rank second in the league with a goals -against-average of 2.00.

The Monarchs are second in the league with a 27.5 percent success rate on the power play at the Verizon Wireless Arena (22 for 80).

The Monarchs lead the AHL with 23 wins and a .817 winning percentage. Only two other teams, the Philadelphia Phantoms (21 wins) and the Hartford Wolf Pack (21 wins) have 20 or more wins this season.

The Monarchs have 15 wins in 18 games (15-2-1-0) against the Atlantic Division this season.

The Monarchs are 18-0-2-0 in games where they've led after two periods this season.

Defenseman Denis Grebeshkov is second in the league among AHL defensemen with 21 assists.

Grebeshkov, selected by the Kings in the first-round (18th overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, ranks fourth in the league among blueliners with 22 points (1-21=22).

Grebeshkov also has a plus/minus rating of plus-13, which is tied for fourth best among league blueliners.

The second best defensive plus/minus rating in the league belongs to defenseman Mike Weaver, who has a plus-14. Weaver, originally signed by the Atlanta Thrashers as a free agent on June 15, 2000, has 12 points (1-11=12) in 30 games with the Monarchs this season.
