
Bulldogs to play five games this week

The Hamilton Bulldogs concluded a four-game western road trip with a 3-2 loss to the Edmonton Road Runners Wednesday evening. Two nights earlier the team dropped another 3-2 decision, but this time by way of a shootout. The Bulldogs now sit tied for sixth in the North Division with 28 points in 30 games and are only three points back of Cleveland for fifth place.
The team will look to climb the North Division standings with five important games this upcoming week, including a home game against the Edmonton Road Runners Monday evening. The Bulldogs also have road games against the Grand Rapids Griffins, Cincinnati Mighty Ducks and defending Calder Cup champions, the Milwaukee Admirals. Upon their return from the road trip they will host the Syracuse Crunch next Sunday.

Hamilton concluded their Western road trip with identical 3-2 losses at the hands of the Edmonton Road Runners ... Hamilton participated in their third shootout last week, and dropped their record to 1-2 in shootouts on the season ... Hamilton continues to play disciplined hockey and currently sits sixth in the league in fewest penalty minutes per game, averaging 22.10 minutes per game ... Hamilton's 11 wins versus North division opponentsis the most by any team versus North division teams ... The Bulldogs road penalty kill is up to seventh place in the league with an impressive 85.7% success rate ... Hamilton continues to excel in third periods outshooting opponents by 65 shots so far this season ... The Bulldogs continue to be unbeaten in regulation when leading after the first period, posting a 4-0-2-0 record to date ... They are equally impressive when leading or tied after two periods posting a 7-1-0-0 record when leading and a 3-1-2-2 record when tied ...
Dan Ellis - was part of bronze-medal winning Canadian Team at Loto Cup held in Piestany, Slovakia ... was winning goalie for only win by Canada when he made 28 saves to beat Austria 3-2
Steve Ott - is currently on a four game goal scoring streak which is tied for the longest current streak in the league ... is currently tied for third on the team in points (13) and fourth on the team in goals (6) ... Ott's 91 penalty minutes is second to only Raitis Ivanans (102) on the team
Jason Ward - scored last week to break a 10-game scoreless drought ... is currently tied for second on the team in goals (7) and third on the team in points (13) ... leads team with five powerplay goals
Corey Locke - recorded an assist in Wednesday's loss and is currently tied for ninth spot in rookie scoring with 16 points (8-8-16) ... Locke's 4 power-play goals continue to be good enough for a tie at second place in rookie power-play goals ... Locke's +8 rating leads the Bulldogs and is also the third highest rookie +/- in the league
Andrei Kostitsyn - left for Grand Forks, ND to participate in the World Junior Hockey Championships for Belarus ... will be competing in the tournament for the fourth time and has recorded 16 points in those 4 tournaments ... brother Siarhei will also be playing for Belarus
