Providence Bruins News Release
The Providence Bruins won their season-high fifth consecutive home game on Sunday night at the Dunkin' Donuts Center, skating to a 3-2 win over the Lowell Lock Monsters. The Bruins are 7-0-0-2 in their last nine games, taking 16 of a possible 18 points over that span. The Bruins improved their record to 16-10-2-4 record (38 points), moving into third place in the Atlantic Division.
Providence left wings Jay Henderson (3) and Tomas Kurka (2) scored for the Bruins, as did defenseman Jay Leach (2). Kurka's goal proved to be the game-winning goal, his second with the Bruins in his third game with the team. Kurka played 187 games with Lowell from 2001-04.
Bruin goaltender Hannu Toivonen stopped 21 shots to improve to 13-9-2 on the season.
