Manchester Monarchs News Release
PLAYOFF PICTURE
The Monarchs are the only team in the North Division that has clinched a playoff berth with 85 points. Trailing Manchester is the Adirondack Thunder (83), Reading Royals (78), Wheeling Nailers (75) and Worcester Railers (70). The Thunder can clinch a playoff berth with a win or overtime/shootout loss today. If they playoffs were to start today, the Monarchs would face the Nailers in the first round.
BACK ON THE ROAD
The Monarchs take to the road for the first time since Mar. 9, when they traveled to Glens Falls, N.Y. for a 5-4 win over the Adirondack Thunder. In fact, this is the first time the Monarchs have taken a trip further than Glens Falls in over a month, since playing the Atlanta Gladiators on Feb. 18. Manchester is on a five-game road-winning streak and have scored 26 goals in those five games. This season, the Monarchs have posted a 20-8-2-1 record on the road.
POWER PLAY CLICKING
Manchester starts the night with the top road power-play unit in the league, scoring on 22.7% of their power-play chances on the road. They have scored a power-play goal in four-straight road games, going 6-for-18, or 33.3% during that stretch. The Monarchs have struggled on the power play against the Royals this season, scoring on 3-of-26 chances, for 11.5%.
