WHERE WE STAND The Monarchs enter the week second in the North Division with nine points, trailing the Thunder (10 pts.) for tops in the division. The Monarchs also sit in a third-place tie in the Eastern Conference with the Florida Everblades.
LEADING THE WAY Ward (4g, 3a) and Matt Leitner (1g, 6a) currently lead the Monarchs in scoring with seven points each. Ward is tied for third amongst rookie skaters with his seven points, and his four goals are the second-most in the ECHL for first-year players.
FILLING THE NET The Monarchs enter tonight's game with the second-most goals scored in the Eastern Conference with 28, trailing only the Atlanta Gladiators. The 4.00 goals/game the Monarchs currently post is tied for the third-best average in the ECHL.
NOTHING ON GOAL? The Monarchs and Thunder have both been stingy this year allowing shots on net, as both teams rank in the top-6 across the league in that category. The Thunder enter the game allowing the fewest shots/game in the ECHL, surrendering an average of 18.83 shots a game. The Monarchs sit in sixth-place, allowing an average of 29 pucks on net.
STREAKING Joey Diamond is riding a three-game goal streak entering tonight's North Division matchup, tied for the longest current streak in the ECHL. Since entering the lineup Oct. 21, Diamond has recorded six points on three goals and three assists.
AFTER TWO Both the Monarchs and Thunder have been perfect when leading the game heading into the third period. Adirondack comes in with a 3-0-0-0 record when leading after the second period while the Monarchs are a perfect 4-0-0-0 when heading to the dressing room for the second intermission.
