Monarchs Announce Roster Moves

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach, Rich Seeley, announced today that Doug Carr has been signed to an ECHL SPC, Joel Lowry has been recalled by the Ontario Reign (AHL) and Steve Mastalerz has been released.

Carr, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound goaltender, played in three games this season for the Albany Devils (AHL), posting a 2.34 GAA with a 0.897 save percentage, earning one win. Carr has played in 18 AHL games in his professional career spanning three seasons, and 22 ECHL games with the Colorado Eagles in 2014-15, winning 10 games with a 2.65 GAA and a 0.900 save percentage in Colorado.

The 26-year-old native of Hanover, Massachusetts played collegiately at UMass-Lowell (H-East), playing in 86 games, winning 32 contests and a posting a career 2.59 GAA.

Lowry heads back to Ontario after he spent three games with the Monarchs, recording one assist.

Mastalerz, a product of UMass-Amherst (H-East), earned his first professional win in his first professional start, Dec. 6, in a 4-2 victory over the Reading Royals. Mastalerz relieved Colin Stevens in the Dec. 5 game and in two games, posted a 2.17 GAA and a 0.921 save percentage.

Carr and the Monarchs are on the ice Wednesday, Dec. 9 (11 a.m.) when they take on the Brampton Beast at the Powerade Centre in Brampton, Ontario.
