MOLINE, Ill. - Quad City Mallards defenseman Mike Monfredo has been named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week, the Mallards announced today in conjunction with the ECHL.

Monfredo, 25, scored one goal and recorded three assists for four points in two games last week. The 6' 3", 210-pound Shirley, New York native assisted on the Mallards' lone regulation goal in last Tuesday's 2-1 shootout win over the Cyclones in Cincinnati before scoring the winning goal at 2:50 of overtime and adding two assists in the Mallards' 6-5 come-from-behind victory over the Evansville IceMen Sunday.

Monfredo is second among ECHL defensemen in assists (15), third among blue liners in points (18) and tied for fifth overall in assists. Sunday's game winner was Monfredo's third goal in 23 games this season. He ranks second on the Mallards in plus/minus rating (+8).

The durable Monfredo has played 227 consecutive games for the Mallards since turning professional in 2012 and ranks twelfth in club history in games played. He has scored 23 goals and notched 75 assists to total 98 points over the course of his four-year career.
