Evansville IceMen News Release

WHO'S IN GOAL?

The IceMen signed Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) goaltender Matt Zenzola this week with injuries to Christoffer Bengtsberg and Cody Reichard. Zenzola was 8-4-1 with a 2.51 goals-against average and .915 save percentage in 14 games for the Pensacola Ice Flyers this season. The Menifee, CA native will be the seventh different goaltender to dress for Evansville this season and is expected to start against the Walleye with Keegan Asmundson backing him up. Both Zenzola and Asmundson are 6'5, which means the IceMen will suit up just under 13' of goalies in Toledo.

FOUR RUTTERS

Defenseman Troy Rutkowski had a career day Sunday against Quad City. The Edmonton, Alberta native picked up four assists in Evansville's 6-5 overtime loss to Quad City, a professional best. Rutkowski has one goal and eight assists in 19 games this season for the IceMen, and is in his final year of a three year contract with the Ottawa Senators. He has played 114 career ECHL games and appeared in 27 AHL games in his three professional seasons.

TAKE IT TO THE CAR WASH

In back-to-back games, Evansville has scored five goals at home, giving all fans in attendance at the Ford Center those nights a free car wash courtesy of Lucas Oil Center. Friday, the IceMen scored five times in a 7-5 loss to Fort Wayne. It was the most goals Evansville has scored at home this year, matching a season high set November 29 in Alaska. The IceMen again scored five goals Sunday against Quad City, but the Mallards overcame a 5-2 deficit to win 6-5 in overtime. All season long, if the IceMen score five or more goals at home, all fans in attendance have up to five days to present their ticket stub at Lucas Oil Center for a free car wash.

HOLY TOLEDO

The IceMen and Walleye meet for just the second time this season Wednesday. Toledo won the previous meeting 2-1 back on October 24, when Evansville celebrated "Back to the Future Night" at the Ford Center. Tyson Fawcett scored the only IceMen goal in the third period, but Walleye goaltender Jake Paterson stopped 38 shots to earn the victory. Toledo has not lost in regulation in the team's last ten games, going 7-0-1-2 in that span. The Walleye are led by Marek Tvrdon and Alden Hirschfeld, who each have eight goals and ten assists thus far, and contributed on one of Toledo's two goals in the first meeting with the IceMen. Goalie Jeff Lerg was loaned to the San Diego Gulls of the AHL last week, meaning Paterson will likely make his second start against Evansville this season.
