Missions Drop 3rd Straight

San Antonio Missions News Release


FRISCO - The Missions fell behind 4-0 and then twice got the game to within one run before dropping their third straight Wednesday afternoon at Dr. Pepper Ballpark.

As they have done throughout the the series, San Antonio didn't get things going offensively until later in the game, when they scored three times in the sixth inning. The Missions have scored one total run through the first five innings during the series first three contests.

Brandon Morrow had trouble keeping 'Riders hitters off base. The former big leaguer allowed a dozen hits and six runs over 5.1 innings of work. He's been charged with 10 runs in 10.1 frames over his two outings.

Relievers Kyle Lloyd and Adam Cimber combined for 2.2 hitless innings.

Gabriel Quintana had a pair of hits at the plate, including a two-run homer. Quintana drove in three runs while picking up his first multi-hit effort of the season.

NOTES: Jose Rondon added two hits and upped his hitting streak to nine games. He's currently second in the Texas League in batting at .365...Frisco scored four of its runs after the leadoff hitter reached to start an inning. The Missions have allowed 90 total runs, 60 of which have scored in innings when the leadoff batter has reached...OF Nick Schulz made his AA-debut for the club, going 1-4 with a pair of strikeouts while giving Auston Bousfield the day off in centerfield.
