Clinton LumberKings News Release

GRAND CHUTE, WI - Kameron Misner homered in his first game as a Clinton LumberKing as they coasted to an 8-3 win over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Tuesday night at Neuroscience Group Field. Misner ended his night with four RBIs and a three-run homer that put the game out of reach for the LumberKings (24-13, 57-49).

Wisconsin (20-17, 51-55) was the first team to score and took what turned out to be an ephemeral lead in the bottom of the second inning. Brent Diaz singled home the first run of the night against Clinton starter Tanner Andrews.

The LumberKings than rallied for four runs in the top of the third inning against Timber Rattlers starter Freisis Adames. Five hits in the inning and nine batters came to the plate for Clinton who rallied for four runs to take the lead for good. Christopher Torres chased home the first run of the inning with an RBI single that stretched his hitting streak to 18-games.

In the top of the fourth, Misner was the offense for Clinton with a three-run homer to right for his fourth RBIs of the game. The blast was the first of his professional career.

Clinton added their final run of the night in the fifth inning which was more than enough support for Andrews (5-4) to earn the win. Over his six innings of work he allowed two runs on six hits while walking three and striking out six.

Wisconsin tallied their runs in second, third, and eighth innings. The single runs were not enough for Adames (2-2) who was hung with the loss. Over his 3.2 innings of work he allowed seven runs on nine hits while walking two and striking out two.

The win is the LumberKings third straight and pulls them to within to one game of the first place Kane County Cougars.

The LumberKings will continue their road trip with the second game of a four-game set with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Wednesday night. Clinton will throw righty Alberto Guerrero (4-5, 2.87) while Wisconsin will tap lefty Scotty Sunitsch (8-10, 4.57). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. (CDT).
