Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Bowling Green Hot Rods (affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays) in the first game of a four-game series.

Last Game: Monday: Fort Wayne 5, Dayton 1. After a rain delay of 1:27, the TinCaps scored three runs in the second inning and limited the Dragons to just five hits as they won the series, two games to one. Mariel Bautista went 2 for 4 for the Dragons. Relievers Eddy Demurias and Matt Pidich combined to shutout Fort Wayne over the final three innings on one hit, striking out six without issuing a walk.

B-Rey Bombs: Dragons outfielder Brian Rey broke the club record for most RBI in a game on Saturday at Fort Wayne, driving in eight runs. He hit two home runs including a grand slam and also contributed a three-run double. The previous record of seven RBI was held by four players including Joey Votto and Adam Dunn. Rey had matched the record by the end of the second inning and broke it in the fourth with a solo homer.

Lodolo's First Start: Nick Lodolo, the Cincinnati Reds 2019 first round draft pick, made his Midwest League debut for the Dragons as the starting pitcher Thursday, becoming the 18th first round pick to play for the Dragons. He worked three innings, allowing one run on three hits with no walks and five strikeouts. Lodolo played at TCU and was a 2019 2nd Team All-American.

Team Notes

The Dragons have lost seven of their last eight games on the heels of six wins in seven games.

The Dragons have scored 29 runs over their last nine games. Of the 29 runs, 13 came in the first two innings of Saturday's game. After scoring 13 runs in the first two innings of the series at Fort Wayne, the Dragons scored just three runs over the remaining 25 innings. The Dragons have scored one run or less in four of their last six games.
