Burlington Bats Stall in 3-0 Loss to Chiefs

July 30, 2019 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Burlington Bees News Release

As hot as the Burlington bats were in Sunday's 15-5 drubbing of Peoria, they went equally as cold in Monday night's 3-0 loss to the Chiefs.

The Bees were held to six scattered singles and three walks. Livan Soto and Justin Jones had the others. Burlington left seven runners in scoring position.

Clayton Chatham got his third start of the year. He ran into control issues early, walking the first two Peoria hitters. Both scored in the inning to make it 2-0 Chiefs after one inning.

Chatham cruised through the second and third with the help f catcher Pina, who threw out to bae runners attempting to steal.

In the fifth, the young California native gave up a walk and a single before giving way to Austin Krzeminski, who allowed a run when he dropped a toss from Connor Fitzsimons at first for an error. Krzeminski then shut Peoria down the rest of the way.

The Chiefs took two of the three games in the set.

After the game Bees outfielder Spencer Griffin was promoted to Advanced A Inland Empire.
