
Minnesota Wild Recalls Forward Cal O'Reilly from Iowa

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota Wild General Manager Paul Fenton today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forward Cal O'Reilly from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).
O'Reilly, 32 (9/30/86), ranks T-1st with 38 points (8-30=38) in 43 games with Iowa this season. He ranks first on the team in assists and power-play assists (15) and T-5th in power-play goals (3) while ranking T-9th in the League in PPA and 15th in assists. The 6-foot, 188-pound native of Toronto, Ont., represented the Wild at the 2019 AHL All-Star Game to earn his fifth AHL All-Star Classic appearance, the second-most all-time in AHL history. He has become the all-time franchise leader in assists this season (79). The left-shot forward set franchise records for most assists (49) and points (64) in 75 games with Iowa last season, including a franchise-best seven-game assist streak. He owns 49 points (16-33=49) in 145 career NHL contests during parts of seven seasons with Nashville, Arizona, Pittsburgh, Buffalo and Minnesota (2008-12, 2015-2018).
O'Reilly was originally selected by Nashville in the fifth round (150th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He was signed as a free agent with Minnesota on July 1, 2017 and made his Wild debut against Calgary on Oct. 21, 2017. He will wear sweater No. 8 with Minnesota.
Minnesota hosts Anaheim Tuesday at 7 p.m. on FOX Sports North and KFAN 100.3 FM.
