Checkers to Host Miracle on Ice Night Friday

The Charlotte Checkers today announced that they will host Miracle on Ice Night on Friday, Feb. 22, during their 7 p.m. game against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
During the event, which takes place on the 39th anniversary of Team USA's 1980 Olympic win over the Soviet Union, the Checkers will wear special USA-themed jerseys that will be auctioned off immediately following the game to benefit The Independence Fund, a National Veteran non-profit headquartered in Charlotte that helps military veterans overcome physical, mental and emotional wounds incurred in the line of duty.
A very limited amount of special packages including a game ticket and a themed winter hat are available now for just $25 total at gocheckers.com/miracle. A rendering of the specialty jersey and hat is attached to this release.
