Minnesota Wild Re-Signs Forward Ryan Carter

SAINT PAUL, Minn.- Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has re-signed forward Ryan Carter to a one-year contract.

Carter, 31 (8/3/83), tallied 13 points (3-10), 55 penalty minutes (PIM) and a plus-3 rating in 53 games with Minnesota last season after signing a one-year contract with the Wild on Oct. 6, 2014. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound native of White Bear Lake, Minn., ranked second on the team in PIM and fifth in hits (77). He set career highs in assists and blocked shots (30) and his point total was the second best in his career.

Carter has totaled 81 points (34-47) and 396 PIM in 413 career games during parts of eight NHL seasons with Anaheim, Carolina, Florida, New Jersey and Minnesota. He has added 12 points (7-5) and 38 PIM in 44 playoff games and won a Stanley Cup with the Anaheim Ducks in 2007. Carter played two seasons at Minnesota State University - Mankato (2004-06) before signing as a free agent with the Ducks on July 12, 2006.
