Jets Agree to Terms with Matt Halischuk

The Winnipeg Jets today announced they have agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent forward Matt Halischuk on a one-year, two-way contract worth $750,000.

Halischuk, 27, played in 47 games with the Winnipeg Jets last season recording eight points (3G, 5A) and six penalty minutes. The Toronto, ON native has played in 250 games for New Jersey, Nashville, and Winnipeg collecting 72 points (33G, 39A) and 53 penalty minutes. He's also played in 118 career AHL games with the Lowell Devils and Milwaukee Admirals recording 77 points (38G, 39A) and 24 penalty minutes.

He was originally drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the fourth round, 117th overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
